This Philodendron is an extremely fast grower, developing beautiful huge leaves as the vines quickly climb along a supporting structure. The leaf blades may be oval to triangularly oval and are semi-glossy as well as somewhat 'leather-like'. The leaf sinus (the gap between the upper leaf lobes) is typically "V" shaped.
Interestingly, the Philodendron Sagittifolium is considered to be extremely morphologically variable (variable in physical form, e.g. leaf shape, and external structure of the plant). Due to its many different shapes and forms it has received many synonyms and names.
The Sagittifolium is quite widespread in nature and found from the tropical rain forests of Mexico all the way south to Colombia, Venezuela and portions of Brazil.
Plant Care:
Like most Philodendrons, the Sagittifolium is an easy and a low-maintenance plant.
Water: The Philodendron likes humidity, so spray with water, especially in winter. Only water when the top layer, 1-2cm, of soil has dried out.
Sunlight: Bright indirect or filtered light is best, the leaves will burn if exposed to full sun all day.
Soil: Loose and porous soil is preferred to provide good drainage. Slightly acidic pH of 6-7 is best.
Temperature: 18-25 degrees Celsius is perfect
