Native to Baja California and Sonora in Mexico, this elegant fan palm is renowned for its slender trunk that can soar to 20–30 meters, topped by a compact crown of bright green, palmate fronds.

Beginner Friendly: Washingtonia robusta is one of the easiest palms to grow from seed. Germination is fast (often under 2 weeks) and seedlings grow vigorously, making this an excellent species for first-time palm growers.

The species thrives in a remarkable range of conditions, tolerating heat, drought, humidity, and even moderate coastal exposure. It is more slender and taller than its cousin W. filifera, and better suited to areas with higher rainfall.
