Roystonea lenis, known as the Elegant Royal Palm, is a rare and visually refined species of the Roystonea genus, native to coastal lowlands and valleys of eastern Cuba. This graceful palm combines the classic stature of Royal Palm with a smoother, brighter crownshaft and notably slender trunk, giving it an exceptionally elegant appearance.
The species displays a tall, straight, grey-white trunk with evenly spaced leaf scars and soft green crownshaft that subtly transitions into glossy, pinnate fronds. The gently arching leaves sway beautifully in wind, making Roystonea lenis an outstanding focal plant for tropical and subtropical landscapes. Contents: 4 fresh, viable seeds. Pre-treatment: Soak seeds in warm water for 48–72 hours to soften seed coat and promote faster sprouting. Change water daily for best results to maximize germination potential.
Use light, fast-draining mix such as 50% coarse sand or perlite and 50% cocopeat or quality seed starter substrate. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent fungal issues. Plant seeds approximately 2 cm deep, horizontally or slightly tilted. Cover lightly with medium and keep surface moisture stable.
Optimal Range: 27–32°C for best germination. Humidity: Maintain moderate to high humidity. Cover trays with plastic or humidity dome to retain warmth and moisture while allowing occasional ventilation to prevent fungal development.
