Brugmansia sanguinea, commonly known as the Red Angel's Trumpet, is a striking ornamental shrub or small tree native to the Andean regions of South America. This distinctive member of the Solanaceae family features pendulous, trumpet-shaped flowers in vibrant red to orange-red hues, often with yellow margins.
The plant develops a woody, tree-like structure that can reach heights of 3-5 meters (10-16 feet) in optimal conditions. Its large, elliptical leaves provide an attractive dark green backdrop for the dramatic blooms. Unlike other Brugmansia species that release their fragrance at night, Brugmansia sanguinea produces minimal scent but compensates with exceptionally vivid coloration.
