Pyrrosia angustata, the Narrow-Leaved Felt Fern, is a slender-fronded member of Polypodiaceae native to monsoon forests and rocky habitats from the Himalayan foothills across mainland Southeast Asia to southern China. Its distinctively narrow, linear-lanceolate, evergreen fronds, densely felted beneath with stellate trichomes, arise from a creeping, scale-clad rhizome on bark and rock surfaces. Hardy only in frost-free to nearly frost-free climates of USDA zones 9b to 12, it is grown elsewhere as a conservatory or houseplant on mineral epiphyte substrate with sharp drainage and a firm wet-dry watering cycle. The species is long-lived, highly pest-resistant, and propagated readily by rhizome division or spore. It is valued by specialist collectors for its fine-textured, grass-like silhouette and its compatibility with mounted epiphyte displays.
