Hardy to approximately minus 5 to minus 7 degrees Celsius (USDA zones 8a to 10), it requires deep shade, constant high humidity, and permanently moist acidic soil. All Cyathea species are listed on CITES Appendix II. Propagation is exclusively by spore. A challenging but deeply rewarding species for experienced growers with suitable cool, humid microclimates.
